Karalundi History

Karalundi is a discrete remote alcohol and tobacco-free community on 207 hectares of freehold land.

The word Karalundi means ‘clear, good water’ which is abundantly available just a few metres below the surface. The Karalundi community is centred around a boarding school which caters for up to 50 indigenous students from years 7 to 10.

The Karalundi Caravan and Camping Park in Meekatharra was originally opened to assist the students to learn the skills involved in the hospitality industry and over time has grown as this ‘oasis in the outback’ is discovered by more and more travellers.
